Many fixed bridges spanning over water require an open grid system for improved drainage off the deck. These bridges are typically found in both metropolitan and rural settings. Our heavy duty riveted bridge deck is a good solution because of its long service life, ease of installation and reduced dead load weight on the bridge supports. The PL product line has a higher degree of flexibility on bar spacing than any other manufacturing method. The PL product can space both cross bars and bearing bars on a 7/16” center-to-center matrix giving you a tremendous amount of flexibility to tailor the specification to your project. PL products are offered in six standard configurations, but can easily be customized to your individual project needs.|
|Electroforged (welded) products are the traditional “standard” of bar grating. These products are available in carbon steel as well as stainless steel (304 or 316 alloy) for areas that may be subjected to corrosive materials. Various spacings and bar depths are available allowing for air, light, and drainage. Grating products can be supplied with a galvanized (carbon steel) or passivated (stainless steel) finish to increase the longevity of the product. Slip resistant surfaces can be applied to enhance the safety of the material.|
|Riveted grating products are manufactured from aluminum () or carbon steel (R) and can meet or (AASHTO H-20) loading requirements. As the oldest style of bar grating, riveted material continues to be the choice of engineers due to its ruggedness, reliability and durability. Products can be provided with various bar depths to meet any loading or span criteria. Serrated surfaces or slip resistant surfaces are available upon request.|
