LEED (The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
LEED is a third-party certification program and is affiliated with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green building. They give building owners and operators the tools they need to have an immediate and measurable impact on their building s performance. LEED promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality.

|The LEED Program has gained popularity and recognition over the past several years and has become the premier sustainability design tool in the building industry. LEED focuses on the constuction of buildings that have minimal impact on the environment during construction, occupation and reclamation. LEED recognizes that utilizing recycled materials is an important part of minimizing environmental impact. This recognition is the driving force for using OGi products. The relatively high percentage of recycled aluminum in our products ensures that our products can provide a significant contribution to earning LEED Points. In addition, our multiple fabrication facilities provide regional manufacturing centers that decrease transportation costs and related fuel consumption and help to enhance local economies, both of which are deemed environmentally preferable in LEED documentation.|
