Finishes

A product’s lifespan is shaped by how it’s finished. Our finishing options are engineered to deliver long-term performance, enhanced safety, and clean aesthetics—whether your project calls for maximum corrosion resistance or added slip protection. With a focused menu of proven finishes and a commitment to environmental responsibility, we help your grating stand up to its environment and look good doing it.

Anodized

A coating of aluminum oxide that is much harder than aluminum, providing excellent wear and abrasion resistance that will not chip, peel or flake over time.

Blasted & Passivated

Uniform, matte appearance with restored corrosion resistance.

Duplex System (Galvanized + Powder Coat)

Our most robust corrosion and color system; ideal for harsh exposures.

Electropolished

Ultra-smooth, cleanable surface with enhanced corrosion resistance; ideal for food, pharma, and similar environments.

Galvanized

A zinc coating applied by immersion to protect every part of the product from corrosion. Lower cost, fast erection time and long life expectancy.

Mill

A natural finish best suited for industrial and manufacturing applications where aesthetics are not a concern. Mill finish carbon steel is subject to rusting.

Powder Coat

Eco-friendly spray-on paint with a uniform finish. Resists chips, scratches, fading, corrosion, UV light and abrasion. Pollution-free and EPA-approved.

PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) Coating

High-performance fluoropolymer finish with outstanding UV, chemical, and weathering resistance for long-lasting color and gloss retention.

OnGrip®

A thermally-applied metal spray technology that bonds with metal surfaces for enhanced traction. ADA-approved and great for slippery environments.

ALGRIP®

A patented CNC laser process that welds thousands of rugged, custom alloy laser deposits to base metal for slip resistance in all directions.

Wet Paint

An economical solution for a protective coating. We use a single coat dip process to thoroughly cover all surfaces in black, high-gloss paint.

Aluminum Grating

Aluminum

Anodized — Electrochemically grown oxide layer for excellent corrosion resistance, hardness, and color options; ideal for architectural and exterior use.

Mill Finish

PVDF (Polyvinylidene Fluoride) Coating — High-performance fluoropolymer finish with outstanding UV, chemical, and weathering resistance for long-lasting color and gloss retention.

Powder Coating

Carbon Steel Grating

Mill Finish — As-fabricated surface for projects where appearance is secondary.

Hot-Dip Galvanized — Durable zinc coating for reliable, cost-effective corrosion protection in exterior and industrial environments.

Powder Coat — Tough, uniform color finish for branding or architectural applications.

Duplex System (Galvanized + Powder Coat) — Our most robust corrosion and color system; ideal for harsh exposures.

Note: Shop-coat black is only a temporary transport rust inhibitor and is not considered a long-term finish.

Stainless Steel

Mill Finish — Standard manufacturing finish.

Blasted & Passivated — Uniform, matte appearance with restored corrosion resistance.

Electropolished — Ultra-smooth, cleanable surface with enhanced corrosion resistance; ideal for food, pharma, and similar environments.

Why Finish Matters

  • Finishes selected to extend service life and reduce maintenance in demanding conditions.

  • Options that enhance safety—including applied slip-resistant surfaces.

  • Systems tailored to your environment, from economical protection to maximum corrosion resistance with duplex solutions.

Environmental Note

We do not use bituminous paint due to its environmental drawbacks and limited durability.

Environmental Note

We powder coat carbon steel and stainless steel, and in some cases apply powder coat over galvanizing as part of a duplex system

Traction Safety Products (Applied)

OnGrip® and ALGRIP® slip-resistant surfaces — Integrated traction that improves pedestrian safety in wet, oily, or high-traffic areas; available on select products and treads.
